IVECO to showcase its full range of natural gas vehicles available for Russian customers at COMTRANS 2019

IVECO will take part in the 15th International Commercial Vehicle Show COMTRANS, the most significant event in the commercial transport industry in Russia, which will be held in Moscow, at Crocus Expo, on September 3-7, 2019.
IVECO will showcase its offering of vehicles running on natural gas with a display that will include a Daily Blue Power and a Eurocargo garbage collector powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), as well as two Stralis NP in CNG and in the new Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) version respectively.
Natural gas technology is a sustainable and cost-effective solution that meets the requirements of every mission, from passenger transport to long-distance haulage.  At COMTRANS, IVECO will focus on the significant environmental benefits of this alternative traction, which can significantly lower pollutant emissions: 90% less NO2, an impressive 99% reduction in particulate matter and 10% in CO2 – which can rise to 90% when running on biomethane.
The flagship vehicle at the show will be the IVECO Stralis NP LNG long-haul tractor truck, a groundbreaking truck running on liquefied methane, which combines power, excellent fuel autonomy and superior driving comfort. This model is a powerful representation of the pioneering and forward-thinking nature of IVECO’s vision on alternative drive technologies and innovations. It is equipped with the robust FPT Industrial Cursor 13 NP engine and the newly-designed Hi-Tronix 12-speed automated gearbox. It was the first to pave the way for long-range missions, smashing the historic limitations of gas vehicles and raising the fuel autonomy to an outstanding 1,600 km on a single liquefied gas fill.
The Stralis NP LNG perfectly meets the needs of the growing number of Russian transport operators who are looking to gas technologies for their fleet renewal, as they are becoming increasingly attractive due to the expansion of the natural gas stations infrastructure. Among the companies that have already chosen IVECO alternative fuel vehicles, are big retailers like Miratorg and Automobile Company Mostrans.
In 2018 IVECO Russia and Gazprom LNG Technologies signed a cooperation agreement to develop Liquefied Natural Gas for the country’s transport sector. Under the agreement IVECO shares its experience and provides comprehensive support for projects aimed at promoting the use of Liquefied Natural Gas as a transport fuel in Russia. IVECO has pioneered the design and production of natural gas vehicles for over 20 years, and has accumulated unique experience in the development and support of these vehicles.
“We are looking forward to welcoming transport operators to the IVECO stand, for which our team has selected a whole range of modern solutions for sustainable transport. We are expanding our product portfolio in order to make it environmentally friendly and at the same time as profitable for our customers as possible,” said Roberto Camatta, IVECO Business Director in Russia.
