FPT Industrial continues its technical partnership with Red Bull, taking the role of Official Technical Partner at the last round of qualifying and the final of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, the high-diving world championship, taking place in Polignano a Mare (Bari, Italy) on the 21st and 22nd and 25th and 26th of September, respectively.

After Red Bull Wake The City, the spectacular Cable Wakeboard competition held at the Darsena reservoir in Milan on the 4th of September to the great appreciation of spectators, where FPT Industrial was present as Official Technical Partner, the Brand will once again be partner in a thrilling, adrenaline-packed event, providing the engines for the support boats used during the competition.

Created and run by Red Bull since 2009, the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series is an international high-diving competition, during which a strictly limited number of athletes, divided into the two categories Divers and Wildcard Divers, dive from a platform located at a height ranging from 26 to 28 meters above the surface of the water. This year’s edition includes eighteen competitions plus the Grand Finale which will decide the men’s and women’s champions for 2021.

The last qualifying competition and the grand finale are being held in Italy, in the spectacular natural arena of Polignano a Mare, which has been the stage for this vertigo-inducing challenge seven times to date, and is the European home of this sport. To reach the springboard, the divers have to walk through the historic center of the town, through the living room of a private residence and up to the platform mounted on a loft.

FPT Industrial will be supplying the boat which will carry the four judges, a DC 10 built by Cantieri Dellapasqua and equipped with two FPT N40 250 E electronic Common Rail diesel engines, with four valves per cylinder, each putting out 184 kW,while offering ultra-low emissions and minimal noise and vibration, ideal for all pleasure vessels up to 12 meters. The hospitality vessel, from which the athletes can watch the competition take place, will also be provided by FPT Industrial. In this case the boat is a Maine 530 from Cantieri Estensi, equipped with two FPT N67 450 N 331 kW diesel engines, which offer excellent performance with a limited weight and size, as well as a reduced environmental impact. They are also ideal for any type ofpleasure vessel up to 17 meters.

The Brand will also have a presence through its stand in the hospitality village, where it will be showing off the jewel in the crown of its marine engines range, the 735 kW C16 1000, ideal for yachts and sports fishing vessels up to 20 meters and current holder of the world speed record on water, set in March 2018 on Lake Como with a speed of 277.5 km/h. The FPT Industrial stand will be located at Largo Gelso, 20.

“After the fantastic experience at the Darsena in Milan, where we provided power for the event – the cable system for the competitors, the music and event lighting – with our engines for Power Generation, we are thrilled and proud to once again stand alongside Red Bull for an event featuring sport and the sea, by providing some vessels powered by FPT Industrial engines for the judges and the athletes,” said Carlo Moroni, Head of Communication at FPT Industrial. “In our role as suppliers of marine engines, we believe it is essential to promote their performance and sustainability, values which are also shared by this event, where alongside the athletes launching themselves from dizzying heights is an entire organization aimed at minimizing the environmental impact of this unique event.”
