FPT Industrial to launch New G-Drives at Middle East Electricity

FPT Industrial, a supplier of extensive energy solutions spanning a power range of 31 to 474 kW, is set to launch two new G-Drives at the world’s largest power event, Middle East Electricity (MEE), held at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai, UAE, on 1-3 March 2016.

The yet-to-be-seen power solutions, enlarging FPT’s top end product portfolio, will be on display alongside a full line-up of FPT Industrial’s G-Drives, soundproof and open gensets. These units are designed for environments and applications where either an emergency or continuous power supply is required; the emergency services, plants, after-sales services and self-generation markets.

The four-cylinder N45 TC, 4.5-litre, turbocharged, high power density G-Drive ensures a maximum of 80 kVA. Compact in size, it is a significant 8% smaller than the competitor average and has an 80% load acceptance due to its long stroke engine architecture and its mechanical injection pump is custom calibrated to optimise performance. It also boasts best-in-class maintenance intervals of up to 800 hours.

Sitting alongside will be the N45 GE open genset that can provide power outputs of up to 120 kVA from its four-cylinder, 4.5-litre, turbocharged and aftercooled engine with mechanical injection pump.

Switchable between 50/60 Hz frequencies, it can deliver between 85 and 120 kVA at 50Hz and between 100 and 110 kVA at 60Hz, depending on the power rating, while also having long service intervals of up to 800 hours. Equipped with an integrated 180-litre fuel tank, the N45 GE open genset has the capacity to work up to 17 hours (100kVA PRP application @ 50% load factor) during a power blackout.

For 2016, all open gensets have a new user-friendly Manual or Automatic Control Panel, programmable by computer through a front optical programming interface that is USB and Wi-Fi compatible, with the option to add communication interfaces and additional digital or analogic signals.

FPT Industrial’s stand at MEE will also feature the N45 GS soundproof genset. With the same 4.5-litre mechanical four-cylinder engine as its open counterpart, that delivers between 85 and 120 kVA at 50Hz and between 100 and 110 kVA at 60Hz, depending on the power rating chosen. It can perform in continuous operation for up to 22 hours (100kVA PRP application @ 50% load factor) thanks to the integrated 240-litre fuel tank. The generator can easily connect to additional external tanks via a three-way valve for long endurance applications.

Maintenance intervals of 800 hours, the soundproof genset has a manual control panel that’s programmable through a computer and is also optimised for transport and handling thanks to hooks and forklift pockets.

Completing FPT Industrial’s line-up of currently available solutions is the N67 TAA G-Drive. The six-cylinder, 6.7-litre G-Drive is turbocharged and aftercooled with a mechanical injection pump. It features a power density 9% higher than the competitor average. This unit also has best-in-class maintenance intervals of 800 hours and has been engineered to withstand the most demanding working conditions of up to 60°C.

FPT Industrial supplies its solutions to major OEMs as well as offering customized configurations and tailor-made solutions of up to 2 MW. Its global offering adheres to emission regulations without compromising outstanding performance, with its engines available in Stage II, Stage IIIA, Tier 3 emission certificates, and in non-emissions certified versions.

FPT Industrial will display its products at MEE in Hall Sheikh Saeed 3, S3, stand E40 and reveal its new G-Drives at the start of the show, on Tuesday 1 March. An in depth presentation on the new products will be held on 15:00 in Seminar Room 1, on 1 March.
