FPT Industrial’s engines for Industrial Power Units
Within its portfolio, FPT Industrial offers a series of engines that can be easily custom-built to fit a wide range of agricultural and industrial applications, such as: hydraulic power units, manure and dewatering pump units, water jet / blaster units, cable reel units, wood chippers and grinders, airline ground support equipment, conveyors, rock crushers and concrete pumps.

These engines are equipped with options specifically designed for Power Unit applications such as industrial clutches, radiators, control panels, pressure and temperature senders in order to preserve reliability, ensure easy access for maintenance and reduce operating costs. FPT Industrial's line-up of engines for Industrial Power Units features three engine families (F5, NEF and Cursor) from 3.2 liters to 12.9 liters with power output from 75 to 510 hp. All engines are designed for highly efficient power output, with quick load response, high power density and low running costs in heavy-duty usage.

At a medium range of power, FPT Industrial showcases its N45 for Industrial Power Units applications, with Stage IIIA compliance. The four-cylinder, 4.5-liter engine delivers up to 88 kW and offers high-performance, reliability, cost-effectiveness and compactness. Durable and simple to maintain and delivering high productivity, the N45 is an easy-to-fit solution with a wide range of options to stand out in all applications. Boasting a production of more than 1.3 million engines since 2001 from the NEF series, N45 allows extended oil service intervals reducing downtime and improving productivity. The absence of external EGR ensures low cooling requirements, allowing for a compact radiator and optimized packaging.

FPT Industrial’s Power Generation for agriculture on display
Launched in March this year at the Middle East Electricity tradeshow in Dubai, the new Cursor 16, based on award-winning architecture, providing up to 582 kW, enlarges FPT Industrial’s portfolio at the top end of its power range. FPT Industrial developed the Cursor 16 G-Drive to offer up to 582 kW, delivering the power of a 18-liter engine within the architecture of a 13-liter one. The six-cylinder engine delivers excellent load acceptance, best in class fuel consumption, service intervals and quiet running, and being the most compact G-Drive on the market, it is the only 600 kVA in a 400 kVA package.

Furthermore, it is the only 16-liter on the market which has been specifically designed to withstand off-road missions and has had over 22,000 hours of bench validation to prove its durability and reliability. It has heavy duty and high resistant components, such as steel pistons and a compact graphite iron (CGI) cylinder head instead of cast iron.

Total cost of ownership is reduced thanks to best in class fuel consumption that is 11% better than the competitor average, delivered through second generation Common Rail fuel injection system with pressures of up to 2,200 bar and a displacement right-sizing approach. This is supported by best in class oil service intervals of up to 600 hours, while it also boasts the smallest oil system capacity on the market that is 32% smaller than the competitor average.

The Cursor 16 has best in class quiet running due to its double re-entrant bowl piston design that optimizes the combustion process and minimizes the output of engine noise. It is also the most compact G-Drive on the market at 22% smaller than the 16-liter competitor average. At 2,353 mm x 1,114 mm x 1,605 mm, it is the smallest on the market, allowing FPT Industrial to pack a 600 kVA within the casing of a 400 kVA.

Available as standard, it also has a dual speed mode with the capacity to operate both at 50 Hz (1,500 rpm) or 60 Hz (1,800 rpm).
